Day 573 - Dec 23, 2009

Today was such a long day. We actually had our big family Christmas today because my niece has to work both Christmas Eve and Day.

So Kevin and I ran to the airport to pick Breezy up and when we got back we all had pizza and then we opened gifts. After that we decorated Christmas cookies, but by then Kevin was exhausted and he passed on the decorating.

It was really a nice day and it's so nice having my baby home - even if it is only for 4 days!

So I am just going to leave you with a bunch of photos:

This first one is Kevin just being his normal goofball self. He loves this wig and I always tell him if it were blonde he would just look like Garth from Wayne's World. True, huh?

This one is Kevin with Anne (my brother in law's mom):

This one is my dad, Breezy, Michael and Chrissy:

Kevin, my dad and my mom:

And here is Kevin with a "Kevin's Bar" shotglass.

Kevin with his "Boondock Saints" t-shirt.

Breezy - just being silly.

Chrissy, my mom and Breezy:

My nephew Michael was hiding under a mound of wrapping paper and I snuck under with my camera and snapped a shot:

The next 2 are of us decorating cookies. You can tell it's a pretty serious event in our family, lol. (actually - anything pertaining to food is a pretty serious event)

And to all the members of The Herd - check out my dad's sweatshirt! Kevin got a big grin when he saw that on my dad today:

And this is Breezy and I:

And last - Kevin reaping all the benefits of completed cookies!

Sorry for posting so many, but we have family back in PA that we want to share these with.

These are so good, especially the great capture of your little nephew, Michael under the wrapping paper. That should be my favorite, but I love the ones best with your Dad. Great work.
It is so good to see your family and my your Father does looks so good. Pictures are so valuable and with what you've just displayed here, you've got your weight in gold with these family treasures.
Merry Christmas to you, Leslie and to your family. You've got the best gift this year and we can see it right in these pictures. God Bless you and this family of togetherness. What love is spoken here, simply by observing the captures. Kevin, our hero miracle, looks so happy.

great pictures leslie. keep them coming. i totally enjoy them. it's very cold in western pa and i have to go finish up shopping (debating butler vs pittsburgh mills) but no matter my choice, i'm sure it will be interesting to say the least. just wanted to say thank you for this past year of posts. i know this is exhausting, as you probably have many others things you could be doing instead of sharing kevin's improvements with us. just reflecting that it is day 573 / 574 for you and this huge life changing event, but you have gotten kevin through so many valleys. you are truly amazing. now, you face your dad's illness on top of all this. that in itself is hard without anything else. parents are the best things we have, besides our kids. i lost my dad 16 years ago and my mom almost 6...this time of year makes their absence even bigger.
keep the pics coming. enjoy the holidays. know that you are in many thoughts and prayers.
Merry Christmas!
Hallie

Looks like a truly joyous Christmas!

We have plenty of pictures of our cats playing in the wrapping paper but none of children....lol. The Boondocks Saints shirt would have been PERFECT for my son, but Christmas Eve is a little late to realize that. :) I like the idea of having an activity, like decorating cookies. Rather than just sitting around digesting large amounts of food. Judging by the smiles, it seems to make for a better time.

My prayers to your father as he makes some difficult decisions.

Hello Leslie,

From one of your many who are related only in their desire to see Kevin become more than what everyone believed, we ENJOY all the pictures you put on this blog. It gives us all a chance to see faces that we can be put with names and for us who have never meant your family it really helps.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL.
May Blessings follow you all through the New Year.
