Day 432 - Aug 4, 2009

I am actually going to skip writing tonight. I will leave you with some photos of Kevin in the pool though.

Before I forget though - Miss Em - you suggested getting water from the Fire Dept, but I was told there are no water trucks in FL. You have to use your tap water. It ran probably 28 hours to fill it. To be honest - it wasn't even full yet when these pictures were taken, but I couldn't get Kevin to wait another minute, hehe.

Awesome! This will really give Kevin something to look forward to everyday. I heard it's miserably humid there. I'm so glad that Kevin has had some good days lately and that your friends have been helping you out.

Take care. I'll be thinking of you and praying for you all.

Yay! What a great place to spend the day. I hope you all enjoy the heck out of that pool. Looks like you've got a good start on that!

So the unpacking of all your belongings is triggering some memories for Kevin? Is that what I understood? Fantastic.

I can just see Kevin doing his first "Cannon-ball" off the side! I'm so happy for you all.

Take care,
Anita

Leslie,

The person who told you that may have been wrong. They may have been thinking of the types of trucks that they send out to the wild fires. Volunteer Fire Dept. in the country where there are no hydrants will use those types of trucks, too. Those are tankers. The Austell Fire Dept. has always sent a pumper. It will hook up to a hydrant, then it pumps the water into the pool. A pumper does not carry the water as a tanker does because it has a hydrant for a water supply.
Take a look around the neighborhood and see where the hydrants are located. No hydrants, then you will be using a tanker not a pumper. In that case you are right my suggestion could not be used.

From the look on Kevin's face while he is in the pool you are going to need one of the following:
1] a fling out type of net in order to capture him and drag him out of the water
2] a crow bar to pry him out
3] water-proof sticky tape to latch onto him and tug him out
4] a long rope attached to him and a winch to pull him out
OR
maybe a piece of his favorite cheese cake on a table far from the water...like inside the house.
:-) [smile, snicker, snicker, smile and big sigh while wishing I was there]

Have loads of fun in the pool away from all the packing boxes waiting to be un-packed.

Miss Em
