Day 271 - Feb 26, 2009

Kevin is sick again. When I went in this morning he had been vomiting since 4:30 am and was very lethargic and had horrible spasms - the same symptoms of the shunt malfunctioning. We ran a multitude of tests today and started him on an IV as he somehow got dehydrated overnight. We do believe he has an infection as his white count is 25 and it should only be between 4 and 10, but we still don't know what kind of infection he has. Please keep everything crossed that it's not either the shunt or the flap - that would be quite devastating as either one would need removed.

I think I am just going to end here as it was truly an exhausting day. I will catch up with everyone tomorrow...

Ugh Leslie, so very sorry to read this news. I'm glad your sister is there with you, but also sorry you guys won't be able to get out and about with Kevin.

Keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers. Hope the cause of the WBC elevation is discovered promptly.

Leslie,

We can never forget prayer too, along with the positive thoughts. God is with you always and He truly listens.

Praying Kevin soon feels better and everything is working the way it should.

God Bless Kevin and keep you all strong and healthy. The poor guy...

Could this have anything to do with the MRSA ? Could he have caught what Brianna had ? Just tossing around other thoughts and hoping it doesn't have anything to do with the flap or the shunt. A lot of people back home are on antibiotics right now as there are so many people sick with throat, sinus, bronchitis with horrible coughs and infections. Most people think they can shake this and end up having to go to the doctor. After getting antibiotic and within a 24 hour period of time of medicine kicking in, start to feel a lot better.

Hope everything turns around soon for Kevin too. An infection or sickness for most people..is so magnified if Kevin gets it, especially with the recent surgeries he has had.

STAY STRONG..

Oh no! There is so much junk going around this year. I'm praying he fights it off quickly with the same tenacity he has handled everything else. It's a shame it had to happen with your sister there, but at least you have that support when it's most needed. Darn. I'm so sorry to hear this, especially since Kevin is already so discouraged. I'll be praying for healing, comfort, and encouragement. You're in my thoughts.

Prayers and good thoughts for Kevin are rising with the small wavering line of heat from the flickering candle flame.

Take care of your self ALSO. Try to take some time and visit with the family it will allow your sprit to rise and grow strong again.

Aww...so sorry to hear that Kevin is sick. I don't know what to say Leslie, except I feel your pain. I pray that the doctors can figure out what is going on with Kevin and fix it right away. I know it has to be so frustrating for all of you, especially Kevin. He is such a braveheart! It is days like this that make you wonder, who is in charge up there in Heaven's waiting room. Sending good thoughts and vibes your way, I only wish it could be enough.
