Kevin is doing better. We actually went to the FH for over 4 hours today! I cooked dinner and we ate together and he did pretty well. There was another wounded soldier there and Kevin pulled out a few of the coins he got from some of the visiting generals and was showing them off. He probably has about 50 or so at home in FL and he loves to look through them.
Tonight though we are having some issues getting blood. We always do, but they just can't get any at all tonight. Most of the times it takes about 10 pokes, but it's just not happening tonight.
So I am going to quit and head to Walmart for another round of shopping. I did get the keys today and got the car fully unloaded, but it's time to load 'er up again.

Force fluids, it sounds like Kevin could be dehydrated being the reason he's a hard stick. Happy Easter to both of you
Happy Easter to all of you...May the Risen Lord grant you a peaceful day...
I'm so glad you had a good day! That's also great that another soldier was there too. Someone Kevin can relate to.
I have a friend that is hard to get blood from. She used to have to be stuck quite a few times. She always asks for an EMT when she goes in. They always get it on the first time for her. I don't know if there are many EMT's where Kevin goes or if that would help either for him. I just remember her saying that she used to have so many pokes before they would get blood.
Anyway, glad things are progressing on your living situation too!
Happy Easter! :)
Have a great day!

May the miracle of Easter and the hope of this new Spring bless you and keep you.
Love hugs and prayers always....
Try a heated blanket or heating pack on the site where they want to take blood as well as pushing the fluids.
Hello Leslie,
It is wonderful to hear that Kevin is starting to feel and do better. Fingers are crossed that it continues.
My nerves are so bad when they say that they want to draw blood becaus of the "fear of needles" {yes I know it's a stupid fear but it's all mine} that the veins seem to disappear. Last time the nurse tried 4 times both arms and the doctor tried 3 times each hand and 2 times in the wrist. They got about 1/2 teaspoon. They had to give-up because I was so white and dripping liquids from my clammy body they were afraid I would pass out.
So I know where Kevin maybe comin from...He's letting everyone know that He's just plain tired of all that crap.
If an EMT is available yell for a "FMF Marine Combat Doc". They know how to take care of their guys and won't take "Shee-eit" from anyone.
Take care of yourself and you and Kevin have a GREAT EASTER SUNDAY.

Leslie,
Last sentence should have read ...
'If an EMT isn't available....
One of these days my "OLD" fingers might be able to keep up with my thoughts....??maybe???

Thinking of you and Kevin....
I'm so thankful that Kevin is doing better and was able to get out for a while! What a turn around. That's too bad about the blood draw. What if he let his arm hang over the side of the bed for 5 or 10 mins before to let the blood pool?
I hope you had a good day today and were able to enjoy an Easter dinner together. You're all in my thoughts and prayers every day! God bless you and take care.
