Although I hate to do it, I am going to skip tonight. We have a meeting at the VA tomorrow and I want to compile my notes and then try to get some sleep.

Hope everything at the VA metting goes good today! We continue to pray for all of you! Take care, Kathy in IA
Leslie, My heart goes out to you...but you made a big step by admitting aloud you are depressed..many big hugs your way. Lots of people wish they were closer to you, just to give you a break..and I am one of them! I am so glad you are going to that support group and hope to God that helps you! I agree with some of them, saying about you needing a break, but I also can't see you letting Kevin out of your sight for any length of time. But it is what you need on one hand..but yet on the other one...you will worry about him all the time. If you still have my phone number...please feel free to call and vent! I am a good listener. Sometimes that can help. I will give my advice..and you might not like what i say.....but i not only listen..i hear what you are saying. Only you know what is best for you guys! But you won't be any good to Kevin, if you are so upset yourself, but we both know you know that yourself. And do you think Kevin picks up on this? I pray that things get better for you in every way possible!! I am just a phone call away! Please take care of yourself, and if you do that, things will get better.
You don't ever "have to blog". I think most of us are here not just to hear about Kevin's progress but for you. No apologies needed. I left a comment on your previous post but I'm thinking I should have provided the web site for the group that trains the service dogs - the important thing is that they train them for each person's individual needs and they DO NOT turn anyone away. You know, service dogs are allowed to be with their person, everywhere, by law. Check it out. It's amazing what these dogs do.
This blog is dedicated to my son, Kevin, who was critically wounded in Afghanistan on May 31, 2008. My daughter, Brianna, and I left our homes and our lives to be by his side from that day forward.
Here is where you will learn of all of our accomplishments as well as the trials of his recovery of such serious injuries.
Although we have come through the acute stage of his burns, we are now focusing on the rehab for his brain injury. For those of you unaware, Kevin has lost nearly 85% of the function of the left side of his brain, causing him to not be able to do much (yet) with his right side and he can only say a few words so far. He also has to learn to write and he needs to remember everything in his past life.
Basically, we have 'started over'.

Sleep is good.
