WTAE Broadcast

Thanks Katie! Here is the broadcast from Channel 4. I was happy that my best friend Moe got to talk to them.

A quick update - Kev's fever was really high when we went back tonight. It was up to 40.1 (celcius). Breeze and I spent close to two hours continuously putting ice compresses on his forehead, neck and under his armpits and we successfully brought it down to 39.3. We sure hope it stays down for the night.

Leslie and Breezy,
First of all, I just want to say how proud I am of both of you. It is so hard to stay strong and you guys are doing a great job. I just love you guys with all of my heart and I am keeping Kev in my thoughts and prayers everyday. This blog is a way to keep me updated with the situation even when I am in Erie. Everyone up there is keeping Kev in their thoughts and prayers too. I just keep telling how wonderful he was and how wonderful of a mother and a sister you two are. Just keep strong and know that we are supporting you from everywhere. I love you guys!!!

Prayer to the Sacred Heart for the Sick

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place into Your Hands, wounded out of love for us, all those I know and love who are ill, injured or in need of Your healing touch in any way. I remember those who are at home and those in hospitals and nursing homes, those who are recovering slowly, those who are lonely or afraid. Be with them all, most loving Jesus, especially those for whom I now pray: Kevin, Leslie, Breezy and their family and friends.
Lord Jesus, please send Your Mother Mary to be with them in their time of need. May she who knew life's sorrow and pain in her own heart, console them with the joy of her Immaculate Heart now reigning with You in heaven.

In Your wisdom, Lord, increase in them Your gifts of Faith in Your Church, Hope in Everlasting Life, and Love both forgiving and peace-giving. If it is Your will, restore them to fullness of health and strength. And bring all of us home at last together with Mary and all Your Saints. Amen.

Hi Leslie and Breezy,

I'm really sorry to hear what happened to Kevin. I have to say when the boys told me about it, I didn't believe it. I thought maybe something happened and the story, somehow, was just embellished because how could something like this happen to someone we knew. I mean, the story wasn't in the local newspaper or on TV...so I just didn't believe it. It took a day for it to sink in and it was extremely hard to accept that Kevin was injured this critically. I honestly cannot say I know how you feel, I just cannot begin to know or imagine. It's just crushing to my heart to know Kevin has been hurt badly and that he's one of my kids' best friends. It's tough to see my kids hurting inside because their friend is down and they cannot fix him like they can a skate board. Too bad for that, huh? A couple new, what do they call them, trucks ? and Kevin would be as good as new !

Well, I've known Kevin since the boys were in elementary school if anyone can pull through, I feel he will. From reading your blogs and the improvements of the tissue over the past couple weeks, I'm praying he is on the upward-path to recovery. Kevin is and has been resilient.

Kevin has Pennsylvania rallying for him and my sister in Kentucky with her long prayer chain rallying for him. I'm positive there's a lot more. Kevin has a great network of friends and family.

We are all proud of you, Kevin, for protecting our country.

We just love you Kevin !

Leslie,

I have been keeping Luke updated on you and Kevin and recently sent him this address so he can keep up with his friend too. I can't even think of words to say to you because they seem useless, but you have my prayers and all the positive thoughts I can send your way. I am very proud to know Kevin and I am looking forward to the day we can welcome him back home to east Brady.

God Bless,
Denise Marano

Leslie and family,
I found out about Kevin from the facebook group that was formed to pray for him. I found out while I was on vacation less than two weeks ago and was utterly shocked. It seems like it was just yesterday he was visiting me with Evan at work and telling me how awesome it is to jump out of planes. I know he will get better, he is a fighter. God bless you and him. A card will be coming your way soon :)
My prayers are with you;
Bonnie Weibel (friend)

Les,

I was reading a prior blog entry and I saw that your employer is hustling you for $400. I do not live far from Butler.

Just tell me who this employer is and I will personally go up there and deliver to them $400 - no questions asked and no strings.

This is the least one can do to honor the bravery of your son.

If you would like for me to do this just send me an email to STEELADDICT (at) YAHOO.COM , and I will do the deed.

Blessings to you, Kevin, your family, and his brothers in arms.

Leslie,
Kevin and your family are in our thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. Kevin and our son met while in basic, and Jonathan thinks the world of "Kamm".
We remain greatful for Kevin's service, most of all for his desire and willingness to serve.

We will not cease in our prayers for Kevin's recovery and for you all to be encouraged through the process.
