Day 904 - Nov 19, 2010

Geez. Time got away from me tonight. I have been packing all night and just looked at the clock and realized I needed to write the blog and then get to bed. We are going to see my cousin Elizabeth tomorrow up at Ft. Hood. She just had a baby a couple of days ago and my Aunt Mona flew down to visit so we are going up to get together for a bit. Breezy and Chris are going too.

We didn't really do much today. Kevin had therapy, but we were given the wrong time so we missed OT. And I guess Kevin shut down in speech. The therapist is making him finish sentences and he only wants to work on learning words. It made him mad so he just quit doing anything. He and I discussed it tonight and he just won't budge. He's been trying to tell me for days that it was making him mad, but I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. Finally...I got it tonight.

And that's pretty much it so I guess I'll catch y'all tomorrow.

I hope they listen to him about wanting to learn more new words and taking it slower on the rest.

I could be wrong, but when I watch my kids (at ages 3, 6 and 7), they often know when they are afraid/overwhelmed/excited about something else and try to set limits. So many teachers try to plow through stuff ... you know, follow a program instead of a person.

With our violin lessons, we are so lucky we have someone who is the opposite. I see my eldest get frustrated and, instead of having the battles that I had with my piano teachers, this teacher LISTENS and is FLEXIBLE and still gets the job done. Actually gets the job done might be a better way to put it.

I don't know if my two bits helps for your advocacy, but I put it here just in case ...

Have a good time visiting.

I can just see Kevin zooming around on a scooter! Maybe someone will "pimp his ride". (Is that show still on?)

Good luck with the move. You're probably getting good at that now, though I hope you can get some help. Let's pray this new place works out better than the apartment. Is it bigger than the apartment?

I'm thinking of you all and keeping you in my prayers. Take care.
