I am so exhausted from traveling all day that I am seriously going to bed as soon as I post this very short post. Kevin is already snoring away and I am so jealous.
So, in lieu of words from me, I am going to post some photos of the Memorial Day Service in honor of Andrew Shields. Andrew's father is in the black shirt and his mother is in the white shirt. I wish I could have been there...
I'm glad you made it safely there and hope you get some restful sleep tonight. When is Kevin's first surgery? You'll both be in my thoughts and prayers.
Heart felt prayers to you, and Andrew's family. I read every morning, but, don't know you guys so I don't post......but, believe me, I am with you all the way
blsnow - Andrew is from Battle Ground (Vancouver), Washington. The memorial stone is in downtown Vancouver, Washington, which honors all the names of fallen soldiers from Clark County in Washington. It was an amazing ceremony honoring and remembering all veterns.
Glad you two made it safe to Texas. Please stay positive. Everything will go fine with Kev's surgeries. Just the next step in his thriving recovery!!!!
Healing and positive thoughts for Kevin! Strength and comfort for Leslie and Breezy. Safe thoughts for all military personnel and strength for their families. BIG HUGS AND ALL MY LOVE TO ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Andrew's Aunt Jodi

Dear Kevin, Leslie and Breezy, I am so sorry that it has been so long that I have left you a note- computer at home is up and running again. I read your postings at work on break. I was turning from hays hardware and saw Kevin and you going down Chicora Hill!!!!! Wow, I pulled off the road and just cried because it was wonderful!!! God bless you , Kevin and your entire family. You are special people. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Thank you for your service. I am so happy about your new home. I will continue to pray for you all. LOVE,THE REEVES GANG.
This blog is dedicated to my son, Kevin, who was critically wounded in Afghanistan on May 31, 2008. My daughter, Brianna, and I left our homes and our lives to be by his side from that day forward.
Here is where you will learn of all of our accomplishments as well as the trials of his recovery of such serious injuries.
Although we have come through the acute stage of his burns, we are now focusing on the rehab for his brain injury. For those of you unaware, Kevin has lost nearly 85% of the function of the left side of his brain, causing him to not be able to do much (yet) with his right side and he can only say a few words so far. He also has to learn to write and he needs to remember everything in his past life.
Basically, we have 'started over'.

love and prayers come your way everyday!
Glad you've arrived safely. Keeping you and Kevin in thoughts and prayers.
Leslie,
It's wonderful to learn that Kevin took to flying as a "duck to water". It should help in the long run.
Prayers for a successful outcome on the operation.
