Day 332 - Apr 28, 2009

I have to say - Kevin is really putting on the weight. I don't think I have ever seen him with an ounce of fat on him, but boy - is he starting to get pudgy in the face and the belly! He's noticing it too and it is really bothering him, so I guess we need to really get back to being active, huh?

I am not going to write much tonight because Kevin couldn't sleep again last night and kept me up all night too. I'm not sure what is going on, but it's been happening a lot lately. He tries to sleep, but he just can't. But anyway, I am just going to upload some photos I took yesterday.

This first one is the excitement on his face when his friend Ray called him:

I do believe his friends are nervous about calling him, but I wish they could see how easy it still is to talk to him and how excited he gets. He really loves hearing from his friends - as you can tell by the look on his face.

These next two pictures are of a man and his tools, lol. I pretty much force Kevin to do the things he would do if nothing had happened to him so yesterday I made him help me build the shelving for the garage. I then made him organize all the tools on the shelf. He resisted a bit at first, but then he had fun with it. I think that he just forgets that he likes to build things.

And last but not least, here is Kevin doing a puzzle. We are up to 300 pieces and let me tell you - he just LOVES doing them.

And now I am heading to bed. I know I have a bunch more questions to answer and I will try to get to them soon!

Love the pictures the last 2 days! Kevin looks great, and sorry Les, LOL, but I don't see an ounce of "pudgy" on Kevin!!! LOL He looks skinny as a rail to me! Okay, so I guess no more Cheese Factory?? LOL. It makes me so happy to see his smile in every picture! Glad you two are adjusting well to the house and things seem to be going well. Thank you so much for sharing these pictures with us. It absolutely makes my day!!!!!!!

Kevin does not "pudgy" to me either lol What is he weighing now?

Did I miss an update on your dad and how his ribs are doing? How are both your parents doing in Florida?

So Friday is the BIG day huh? To Texas for great things to come for Kevin AND you both get to be with Breezy there.

I think it's nice to see some meat on Kevin after so many months of him being rail thin. His hair has really grown in, too, so he must be happy about that.

That's pretty cool that Kevin can do puzzles! I imagine it's a great way to develop and increase his brain activity.

I'll be thinking of you all and praying for you.

Its so amazing to all of us back here in Germany to see how far Kam has come.We think and talk about him all the time.Whenever someone is telling a story about Afghanistan theres always somthing funny that he did to make the time pass.We all read or ask about updates on Kam but alot of us are affraid to call him,not knowing if we may say the wrong thing or Kam not remembering who we are.Kam has shown me personaly how to bounce back from anything.I know he's had his ups and downs but hes always been strong enough to pull through. As for you his mother I cant say enough about everything you have done, not only for being there for him 27-7. But for doing "Mended Wings".You truly are an angel. All in all I just wanted to say thank you and I wish the best for Kam and your family!!

Thank you again...

P.s. If its possible can you email me kam's cell phone number so some of us could call him. heather.houghton@us.army.mil
