Day 45 - July 15, 2008

This was another one of those uneventful days. Kev is still moving as often as he can and today he even lifted his splinted leg up over the bed rail, but not much else happened.

They are still draining fluid and will be for days yet. And all of his numbers look good too. So I am going to just not post much tonight.

I will end with another funny story from today. I think I told y'all that I call him babe and honey and the like (but in all fairness I call Breezy that too). Well, I did this tonight and Breeze was joking and said "Come on, Kev. Tell her to quit talking to you like that". Didn't he reach up to my face (I had my mask down below my lips a bit) and he pushed my mask up over my mouth and held his hand over my mouth for almost a minute. I sure hope he was joking around .

Don't all of these things just give you hope that he is going to be normal again?

Leslie,

What fantastic news with each new thing that Kevin seems to be doing each day..tiny as they may seem but oh the effort it must take him to do these things. You and Brianna being with Kevin constantly is making his life be as normal as it possibly can. You two are helping him so much.

Day 45 - just think back to day one and all of the "baby steps" of progress that Kevin has made to get to where he is today.

The strength Kevin is showing with all he has been through and continues to go through each day..just blows me away. I don't think any of us can even visualize or imagine all you and Brianna have been through and witnessed..seeing Kevin go through hell.

When my son was very young, he was in the hospital three times with very serious issues. My Mother and I never left him. I understand how you feel about wanting to leave him in the nurses hands that you feel most comfortable with.

I know what the doctors have told you about Kevin's prognosis. I'm sure that was really hard to swallow. It seems as though each day he does something that surprises everyone.

I agree with you..let's prove them all wrong. That would be the best news yet.

You're doing such a good job. I'm sure if Mister Rogers still happened to be alive..he would sing "I'm Proud Of You"..because we sure are very proud of you. Kevin's family means the world to him. You guys are the best medicine he could be getting right now.

When you leave him each night..know Kevin is not alone for God is always with him. Prayers and positive thoughts and hope and faith always sent your way.

Please keep praying. God will hear you. I promise. : )

Oh my, what a wonderful story! And what a testament to the love and strength you and Brianna and Kevin have for one another.

And short posts are just fine, Leslie! It means "a normal day", maybe, or gives us an idea that you were able to garner some extra little bit of rest, for which we all pray you and Brianna are able to get.

Remember, if there is anything you need...or want to talk...

Prayers, love and hugs. Always

Yeah Les, Kevin is hearing you and I truly believe with each new day, he's gaining more strength and coming around more and more. That's the power of prayer. Keep your faith and strength and continue to feed him with that. Hope to hear another funny story tomorrow. Thinking of and praying for you all daily. Love you.

Leslie,
Kevin is there and is on his journey back, he has come a long way since day 1. There are many more momentous days to come and yesterday is one of many. It's so cool that he put his hand up to your mouth to stop you from talking the way you were to him. Kevin is fighting his way back and a day like yesterday with his hand to your mouth is a testament to his resolve to come back.
There is silver around you all.
Blessings,
Jeff

To say that YES there is hope is a huge understatement!! There is absolutely positively immeasurable amounts of hope for Kevin - the signs are there, they keep getting more pronounced. Kevin's miracle continues to unfold! Thoughts, prayers, support and load upon load of Angel Hugs are always on their way to you all. God bless you Kevin, Leslie & Breezy.

Leslie, That gave me goose bumps. Sure seems to me that he knows what is being said and wow honey what love that shows that bonds all three of you together. Short blogs are good means that nothing is wrong honey and maybe that you can get a little rest. I am praying for you guys. Keving is sure a fighter(I wonder where he might have learned that from????) Take care and talk to ya later. Love ya, Pam

Another step Les! I think it's great! You and Breezy will help him through all this. Let him show you in any way he can that it's Kevin under all those bandages and the sedation! I know it makes your heart jump because it does mine...
I am thinking of you all,
Love ya
