Holy cow that baby is the cutest thing ever!! Well, besides my kid LOL!! Please do let Joel, Maritza and Jose know that there are loads of prayers and Angel Hugs being sent their way, to give them the strength and courage to endure such a long operation. Please do let us know how he is doing??
And I wanted to leave a note yesterday but I was not near a computer! You were all in my thoughts and my prayers in a very special way yesterday, September 11, 2011. It was a day of deep reflection, a day of tears and a day that serves as yet another reminder of what you have all done and given to me, my family and to this great country.
Your service and support has meant that we have lived for 10 years without another attack on our soil. Your service and support has kept us safe, and has allowed us to live our lives enjoying the Freedom that you have earned for us. Your service and support has made it possible to have our sweet, precious Freedom in the first place. It was a day that served as yet another reminder that this precious Freedom is so expensive. So expensive that it is impossible to ever put a simple dollar amount on. And for everything that you have done, given and sacrificed for my freedom, it would be impossible to ever be able to thank you enough. The words just seem so cheap in comparison.
God bless you all, God bless all of our heroes past and present, God bless America!!
Thank you so very much for all that you have done for all of us out here. Thoughts, prayers, support and loads of extra special Angel Hugs come your way every single day, and they always will.
How wonderful reading Joel, Maritza and Jose visited. Your photos are great! Christian is so adorable and what a water baby! There's no doubt he LOVES the water, lol!
Kevin looks like he's having a great time as well. Sure thought of your family and so many others this past weekend. We thank you ever so much.
So glad to see you're all enjoying your trip! That Christian is a cutie and your parents must be loving having you all there.
Kevin was heavily on my mind yesterday as I reflected on the immense sacrifice our servicemen and women have made since 9/11. He's one of the many heroes that were a result of that horrible day.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay. You're all in my thoughts and prayers!
This blog is dedicated to my son, Kevin, who was critically wounded in Afghanistan on May 31, 2008. My daughter, Brianna, and I left our homes and our lives to be by his side from that day forward.
Here is where you will learn of all of our accomplishments as well as the trials of his recovery of such serious injuries.
Although we have come through the acute stage of his burns, we are now focusing on the rehab for his brain injury. For those of you unaware, Kevin has lost nearly 85% of the function of the left side of his brain, causing him to not be able to do much (yet) with his right side and he can only say a few words so far. He also has to learn to write and he needs to remember everything in his past life.
Basically, we have 'started over'.
