Day 1320 - Jan 8, 2011

We are actually in Pennsylvania attending Louise's funeral. Sadly, she passed away on Thursday after almost 2 weeks in the hospital. I am just so glad that Kevin and I both talked to her just a few days before she was admitted. We had sent her flowers for Christmas and we chatted for a couple of hours the night they were delivered - with Kevin talking a good 20 minutes with her.

The service was this afternoon and it was very touching. Kevin was a pall-bearer and he was just so proud to be included with the other grandsons. He did such a fantastic job and it was just so heartwarming for me to see him with his cousins as a group. It was a sad situation, but he and Breezy both were made welcome.

So as soon as I was told about the funeral I got on the phone and rearranged Kev's appt with the surgeon that was scheduled here in Pittsburgh for next week. We can get in and see him this Tuesday, saving us another trip back so quickly. Not that we mind being here by any means, but it's really cold here, lol.

Other than that, we had a relatively mild beginning of the week. I think I'm gonna sign off early though and go to bed. It has been an exhausting weekend and Kevin is already sound asleep. Christian and Breezy are too so it's time for me to hit the hay as well.

Please tell Kevin and Breezy that I'm thinking about them over here in Vancouver. <3 Loss is always hard. <3

Losing Louise is terribly hard; she was a good friend to me and a wonderful person. I was so proud of Kevin at the cemetery! You have done so much to help him progress! Kevin didn't remember who I was at the funeral home until I mentioned Clark (Tippy). On a happy note, it was soo good to see little Christian in person. I didn't get to hold him, but everyone was so busy "sharing" him I didn't want to scare the poor child. He is a cheerful little fellow! And Breezy looks great, Texas seems to agree with her.

So sorry to read of Kevin and Breezy's Grandma passing. Most heartwarming to read of Kevin's particiapation, which was made possible by your powerful efforts, Leslie. Hope you've had some time to rest and recoup. Sincere sympathy to you all.
