What is Mended Wings
This blog is dedicated to my son, Kevin, who was critically wounded in Afghanistan on May 31, 2008. My daughter, Brianna, and I left our homes and our lives to be by his side from that day forward.
Here is where you will learn of all of our accomplishments as well as the trials of his recovery of such serious injuries.
Although we have come through the acute stage of his burns, we are now focusing on the rehab for his brain injury. For those of you unaware, Kevin has lost nearly 85% of the function of the left side of his brain, causing him to not be able to do much (yet) with his right side and he can only say a few words so far. He also has to learn to write and he needs to remember everything in his past life.
Basically, we have 'started over'.

Thank you for letting us know. She's gone so long being so strong. It's a wonder she hasn't been sick before now.

OH NO! I am sure everyone will keep Leslie in our thoughts and prayers! I hope everything will be ok and if there is anything anyone can do be sure to let us know! Breezy, thank you for letting everyone know about your mom! Stay strong!

As everyone has already said, thank you for letting us know. I read your mom's blog first thing every morning and would have worried that something happened to Kevin overnight.
Our family's prayers are with you all, you're a strong family. Have a safe trip.

Oh no! She was so looking forward to having a "week off" with Kevin. I'll be praying for her and hope that she gets better quickly. I'll also pray you have a safe trip and that Kevin is OK while your mom is recuperating. Thanks for letting us know and tell your mom to take it easy!

Breezy--safe flight. I know Kevin will be VERY happy to see you. I know that Leslie will be relieve that you will be there for Kevin and now her altho she will be sorry for having to have to call on you back before your decision time was completed.
