Another really great day today. I was amazed at how willing to work Kevin was at all of his therapies today. He first went and played Wii and he had a blast playing it and he even helped another patient play better. Then we had speech and he rocked it, followed by PT where he just did a wonderful job of learning to stand without using his hand to support himself as he stood up and finally in OT he really allowed his therapist to work his arm more than ever before. It was all just such a great day.
Tonight wasn't as great because we were out riding around near the house we plan to buy and we came across an accident so we had to detour. Well, I don't know that area well enough to detour and I got lost. That stressed me out, which in turn stressed him out and it was a rough ride for a little while. But I eventually found the Cheesecake Factory and I definitely know how to get home from there. (thank goodness!) I have to admit that I was too cheap to put a GPS system into the van, but I am rethinking that after tonight.
And that about sums it all up tonight. I am so hoping tomorrow is even half as good as the last few days have been...

Leslie,
Great to read that Kevin's doing so well in therapy. Attitude makes all the difference sometimes.
Can I just say that I think a GPS would be a great idea for you. We have a Garmin nuvi 255 and it's awesome! It talks to you and you can save directions to all your favorite places. There's emergency info on there too that will direct you to the nearest hospital, and anywhere you are you can tap the "Go Home" icon and it will lead you right to your front door. There's also a "Where am I?" feature that's really helpful too. We got ours at Target for $169. There's a cheaper one, but it doesn't talk. I think the audio is worth it so you don't have to take your eyes off the road.
Anyway, I'll keep you and yours in my thoughts and prayers. Way to go Kevin!

We have a garmin 205w nuvi and bought one really cheap on ebay, for about $99. so check it out! It is very easy to use and portable too. Also praying daily for you all and knowing God has his hand on you. Piles of Blessings on you and yours!
Yeah Kevin! Very good news and hope it continues. Thinking of all of you.
We have a Garmin also.
Very encouraging news! It sounds like Kevin is gaining some confidence in himself if he is helping others and complying with his therapists.
Praise God for the progress Kevin is making physically and emotionally! I'll keep praying he can sustain this level of progress and stay healthy. Did you ever find out what that infection was all about?
