I'm not really going to write anything tonight. I left Kevin for the whole afternoon with his aide and he has been unbearable tonight. I am just too tired to think coherently enough to post anything that would make sense. Sorry!
I'm sorry, Leslie (and I consider you Kevin and Breezy part of my family, too. Thank you for letting us in!) I read your blog every day and am cheered by the highs and saddened by the lows...and I must say that the gloomy weather here locally hasn't helped anyone's mood-everyone seems a bit down.
I hope things are better today.
I wish you guys the best- every day, in every way. (And I'm glad the Pittsburghese link made you laugh-I did, too, though my family's from Ohio and West Virginia I love regionalalistic idioms)
Hi Leslie, no need to apologize for not writing! I hope you were able to get some sleep. I agree with Miss Em re: Princess possibly sensing Kevin's mood.... Perhaps you slept with a warm feline last night?
This blog is dedicated to my son, Kevin, who was critically wounded in Afghanistan on May 31, 2008. My daughter, Brianna, and I left our homes and our lives to be by his side from that day forward.
Here is where you will learn of all of our accomplishments as well as the trials of his recovery of such serious injuries.
Although we have come through the acute stage of his burns, we are now focusing on the rehab for his brain injury. For those of you unaware, Kevin has lost nearly 85% of the function of the left side of his brain, causing him to not be able to do much (yet) with his right side and he can only say a few words so far. He also has to learn to write and he needs to remember everything in his past life.
Basically, we have 'started over'.

With Kevin being "unbearable" how was "P-M" reacting to this side of Kevin?
Was she able to assist you in calming his mood?
My cat seems to disapear when my mood is 'way out of sorts'. Guess she knows that she will get yelled at during that time period...more than usual. ;)
