I just got called at 9am and have to leave by noon today for Tampa!! YAY!! We are on our way!!
Now I have to finish packing everything! Talk to y'all tonight!

What is Mended Wings
This blog is dedicated to my son, Kevin, who was critically wounded in Afghanistan on May 31, 2008. My daughter, Brianna, and I left our homes and our lives to be by his side from that day forward.
Here is where you will learn of all of our accomplishments as well as the trials of his recovery of such serious injuries.
Although we have come through the acute stage of his burns, we are now focusing on the rehab for his brain injury. For those of you unaware, Kevin has lost nearly 85% of the function of the left side of his brain, causing him to not be able to do much (yet) with his right side and he can only say a few words so far. He also has to learn to write and he needs to remember everything in his past life.
Basically, we have 'started over'.

Woohoo! After waiting and waiting, things are finally moving quickly! I'll be praying for all the details to come together, a safe trip, and for Breezy and your stuff to arrive safely, too. Please let us know your new address when you get a chance.
Congrats to Kevin, Mom, & Breezy! I was elated when i got the text from Kim this afternoon. I talk about Kevin's progress to my husband and mother and they both were excited to hear the news also!

This is wonderful news WOOHOO. I wish you, Kevin and Breezy God speed to Tampa, but I'm sure you are there by now. Tampa will certainly be the next stepping stone for Kevin's recovery. This has certainly been a good day thank God. I can't wait to read your next log.

It's Breezy and I just wanted to let everyone know that we all made it safely. I can't create a post but figured I would let everyone know. Mom is staying at the hospital tonight. Everything is okay it's just they weren't prepared for us and mom wants to make sure everything goes smoothly. Thanks everyone!

Hey--Maine here again. It's been so amazing seeing all the answers to prayer during these past 88 days. Now the Lord has opened the door for the next chapter. I trust He will continue guiding you as you make decisions, settle in and begin to see Kevin's progress in Tampa. Thank you Lord!
